Once we moved to Texas, Travis and I knew we wanted to buy a house. Living in Flagstaff, it would have been impossible for us to afford one. So we were excited to start the process here. Of course the first big thing we found out when we moved here was that I was pregnant. Our house search was put on pause for a little while and we decided to wait until after he was born.
In our search of the area, there was everything from foreclosures to homes priced up to the millions and homes built in the 70s to brand new ones. Basically the possibilities were endless. I looked online at home after home without any success becase I always found something wrong with the specs. It was too small, too old, in a weird part of town, etc. etc. Then one day we went driving around and stumbled on this nieghborhood. Signs were posted out front that were promising on prices. So we went in.
I think immediately Travis and I loved the feeling of the neighborhood. The sales man showed us the differnt models and priced things out for us. We went home that day saying that we would think about it and to see how we would feel in a week. Well that week came and went and I admit, I thought about the house everyday. I'm sure Travis did too. So the following Saturday, we went back to the sales office and picked out our house and everything about it. We were able to customize/upgrade on some things and it was so exciting knowing that it would belong to us! We left that day feeling relived and excited about our home to come.
The house itself took about two and a half months to build and just the other day we were able to close. We are now in the packing stages and will be moving within the week. Its going to get crazy but I am so excited!
