The Big ONE

We were lucky enough to be able to celebrate Carson's first birthday with my family. And I say lucky since we don't see them very often. Now this was not your typical one year old birthday party. There were no balloons, no presents, and definitely no decorations. Yes we had a cake, but the most important thing we had was my dad. Personally, that was the best first bithday we could have asked for.

We celebrated in the hospital waiting room with my family and that is all that mattered on Carson's birthday.

My dad was just moved to a regular room out of the ICU the afternoon before. The party wouldn't have been the same without him.
