2011: A Year Filled With Memories

As I look back on this year, I am so thankful of everything that has happened.  Travis and I have been so blessed through all of the good things and the bad.

In Feburary, we welcomed our first child.
In August, we bought and moved into our first home.

Travis and I each lost our (paternal) grandmothers this year and though death is a sad thing, they both lived full lives. My grandmother was 99 (wow!) when she passed in early Feburary and Travis', was 85 (wow again!) when we lost her in August. They have both gone home to be with the Lord.

My dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. I have never experieced someone that close to me with such an awful illness but I know through all of this that God is teaching me to have faith in His plans, not only for me but for the people around me.

Travis' dad still suffers from Diabetes but he gets through everyday the best he can. He loves the Lord and wouldn't have it any other way. This year his dad turned 60! It is an amazing milestone considering all of the health issues he has had over the years.

On a lighter note (don't want to be a Debbie Downer here), Travis' sister and husband along with their two boys moved to Houston and I love having them around. Carson can be near his cousins and play with them. We also found out that in this coming year we will be expecting our second child!

So as 2011 has gone, I welcome 2012 with open arms and an open heart.
